Parent Trap Birthday Party Tablescape

It’s birthday week in our house and my daughter Gracie is turning 7 this weekend! This year, she chose Parent Trap as her birthday party theme. I love this theme because it’s one of our favorite movies to watch together! For Gracie’s birthday party, the girls are going to have pizza and then watch the movie. I’m so excited to bring you along and share all of her birthday party details. Let’s start with the tablescape. I like to set my table in advance so I don’t have to worry about it the day of.

Parent Trap Birthday Party Tablescape

  • Table Runner: I love Hester and Cook’s paper products because they make cleanup easy while still adding a nice look to your table. I started with their kraft paper table runner which is really versatile and a good base. I used this for my apres ski dinner party and thought it also tied nicely with the camp theme for Gracie’s Parent Trap birthday party.

  • Placemats: Another Hester and Cook find, these green check placemats tie in the Camp Walden colors perfectly!

  • Paper Plates: I found green paper plates on Amazon. I wanted to use the dark green plates to go with the color on the placemats, so I ordered the 48 pack since the pack comes with different shades of green.

  • Water Bottles: I had to get Evian water bottles and hot glued lizards to them as a little nod to Meredith Blake. I also wrote the girls names on their water bottle so they can keep track of them and then they double as place cards.

  • Centerpiece: Hydrangeas are classic and always make your table look nice. I got white, green and blue hydrangeas from our local grocery store. They were actually cheaper than Trader Joe’s surprisingly! I assembled 3 vases to add to the center of my table. To tie in Parent Trap details, I printed larger versions of the invitations I found on Etsy and cut the boarder out to make confetti to sprinkle between the flowers. The invitations come in a bundle with goodie bag tags and cupcake toppers and you can easily print them at home.

  • Birthday Banner: I found a simple birthday banner in Camp Walden green! Gracie is sitting at the head of the table, so I hung the banner on the window behind her seat for a good photo op.

  • Goodie Bags: I added a goodie bag with Parent Trap treats at every place. Check out my Parent Trap goodie bag guide for details!

  • Balloons: I ordered a gold foil 7 and a little bundle of green and white balloons for Camp Walden. I think balloons add a festive touch and I always recommend picking them up the morning of the party. Gracie’s going to sit at the head of the table, so I’ll put them on each side of her chair. This makes for a good picture op too!

Menu

  • Dinner: I like to keep the menu simple, especially with kids. To make it easy, we’re going to order pizza. Win win because I don’t have to worry about cooking and pizza is a fan favorite.

  • Dessert: I ordered cupcakes from our local grocery store with green and white sprinkles to tie in the Camp Walden colors. I prefer cupcakes instead of cake at birthday parties because they’re easier to serve and you don’t have to worry about cutting the cake! I found these adorable Parent Trap cupcake toppers from Etsy that I’m going to put on each cupcake. I also got a number 7 sparkler candle from Hester and Cook for Gracie’s cupcake.

Happy hosting!
