Parent Trap Birthday Party Movie Setup

Icing on the cake for birthday week is this fun movie setup! The girls will be watching the Parent Trap at my daughter’s birthday party and I wanted to make a cozy space for them to enjoy the movie! To make the movie setup special here is what I did.

Parent Trap Birthday Party Movie Setup

  • I put the movie setup in our living room and moved our coffee table out of the way to make space for the tent and room for the girls to sit on the floor if they want to spread out with blankets and pillows.

  • Tent: I found this adorable play tent that’s perfect for making a special movie setup. Bonus, it comes with twinkle lights, a mat for the bottom, and it’s easy to put together (my son helped me and it took us about 10 min). I think it will fit about 4 girls comfortably during the movie, so we’ll have them take turns. We’ll also put this tent to good use after the party as a little play area for my daughter.

  • Pillows, Blankets & Stuffies: I grabbed lots of cozy blankets, throw pillows, and Squishmallows that we already had at home to spruce up the tent. I also put blankets and Squishmallows on the couch since the tent won’t fit everyone at once.

Parent Trap Birthday Party Snack and Activity Table

  • Snacks: You can’t watch a movie without snacks, so I set up a table with all of Gracie’s favorites! I found these popcorn boxes so everyone can have their own popcorn, sour patch watermelon snack packs (I like that these are small), mini crunch bars, and Honest juice boxes.

  • Activities: I also got little activities for the girls to do during the movie. I found these friendship bracelet kits and think the gummy bear beads are so fun! I also got stick on earrings since Hallie pierces Annie’s ears in the movie. We will not be piercing ears so I thought stick on earrings would be a good alternative!

Day of Decor (Coming Soon!)

  • Camp Walden Sign: I painted a Camp Walden sign that I’m going to hang above the snack and activity table. It turned out well and I can’t wait to share it with you, so stay tuned! I used butcher paper, drew the letters and logo first with pencil, and then filled them in with green paint using these paint brushes. For the blue waves at the bottom, I used a light blue marker.

  • Balloons: I also ordered a bunch of green and white balloons that I’ll add to our living room the day of the party. I’m either going to put them on the ceiling or make little bundles to put around the living room. I share details after the party!

  • Flag Banner: I found a green and white flag banner that I’m going to hang from our mantel to tie in the camp theme. More to come once I figure out how I want to hang it!
